Actor Siddhant Issar recently shared that he would love to be a part of historical films. The actor’s father, Puneet Issar, who essayed the role of Duryodhan in B.R. Chopra’s Mahabharat has forwarded the legacy to his son. Now, Siddhant has showcased the role of Duryodhan in a play. In a recent interview with Times of India, the actor shared about he is coping with the global pandemic and his take on films and projects. In addition, he also shared about his anxiety and stressed mental state during the lockdown.
Siddhant Issar talks about Lockdown and his Favourite Directors:
When asked about what kinds of films he would want to focus on, Siddhant shared his big dream. The actor mentioned that doing historical films is his dream. He also said that Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ashutosh Govarikar are his favourite directors. The young actor shared that he loves period films. Not only this, he took to another spectrum of working in a movie based on Shakespeare’s drama. He said, “I would also love to work in a film like ‘Omkara’, which was an adaptation of Shakespeare by Vishal Bhardwaj sir.”
Siddhant also talked about the work that he has done so far. He said, “I have been pursuing theatre from a very young age. My latest play, ‘Mahabharat An Epic Tale’, has been one of India’s most successful live theatre plays. I play Duryodhan on stage, a role my father immortalised on TV in BR Chopra’s ‘Mahabharat’. I also have done a web series. After doing theatre, I am focusing on subject-oriented films.”
Talking about the coronavirus triggered lockdown, he said that he understood what ‘cabin fever’ is. He was quoted as, “I learned to count my blessings and that includes my parents. Earlier, I used to be envious of my friends, who were bachelors and living away from their families. I felt that they had freedom to have parties at home and live life on their own terms, but when the lockdown happened, I saw their loneliness.” He also said that he felt gratitude towards God for such a life.
