#MeToo movement helped many people voice their struggles and pick names of the ones who sexually harassed them. However, the movement lost its authenticity when a few fake allegations started coming up. In the recent case, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is accused of sexually molesting actor Payal Ghosh. In the beginning people went on to believe these allegations. However, later when Bollywood actresses starting voicing their trust and faith on Kashyap, it comes out like not many people rely on Ghosh’s statement. Now, actor Anupriya Goenka has come forward to back Kashyap for the same. In a series of twitter thread, Goenka wrote about the vilification of Bollywood and addressed Kashyap as an “ardent advocate of human rights”.
Anupriya Goenka Extends Support to Anurag Kashyap in Sexual Assault Case:
In the first threat she wrote, “It pains me a lot to see how the film industry is being brutally targetted, to create distraction, to take focus away from the real n potent issues. This industry has given us a lot, both as entertainers and an audience. Pls don’t discredit it.”

The 33-year-old actor also said that false accusations will derail and discredit the movement. She continued, “I totally stand with Anurag Kashyap. He has been so courageously and unflinchingly vocal about so many human issues, risking his personal interests and safety even. He, in fact, empowers the women around him.”
In one of her tweets, she also mentioned that Bollywood is being crucified to avoid to avoid questions about the real boiling issues. Addressing and talking straight about Anurag, she wrote, “@anuragkashyap72 has courageously n unflinchingly spoken agaist fascism.He’s an ardent advocate of human rights n women empowerment n many, fiercely outspoken, strong, super talented women (also ‘outsiders’) who’ve worked with him, ‘ve come out in his support. That says a lot.”
