The death of television actress Vaibhavi Upadhyay shocked the whole business last night, shocking many in the industry. While on vacation in Himachal Pradesh, the actress was killed in an accident. According to an entertainment website, the actress died instantly from head injuries and cardiac arrest. Her fiancé was driving the vehicle when they gave the truck too little room to pass and it struck their vehicle. This caused a very strong and impactful jolt that caused Vaibhavi to be thrown out of the vehicle into a valley (ditch) within seconds. The actress wasn’t restrained in her car.
But fortunately, her fiancé only suffered minor hand injuries and survived the collision. He was spotted at the crematorium and paid her a visit as well. The actress’s final rites were performed today in the afternoon, and friends and family sent their condolences to the family.
Although her brother and his wife were vacationing in Australia, they returned home as soon as they learned the news.

The final religious ceremonies (Smashan Yatra) will begin at 1 pm and will go from Babhai Hindu Smashan Bhoomi, Babhai Naka, Borivali West, to 505, Mehta Premier, above Kohinoor Showroom. Dilip Chandrakant Upadhyaya, Chetna Upadhyaya, Jinal Suketu Thakkar, and Ankit Upadhyay (sic) are in mourning.”
“Vaibhavi tried to get out of the vehicle through the window. And sustained a head injury that proved fatal while the other passenger was safe,” SP Kullu Sakshi Verma told news outlet PTI. Vaibhavi played Jasmine Mawani, the love interest of Rosesh, who was portrayed by Rajesh Kumar, in Sarabhai Vs. Sarabhai. Her feisty persona frequently made viewers laugh with her literal foot-in-mouth translations from Gujarati to English. The Gujarati slogan “Khot nat Kehti” and Jasmine’s refusal to submit to the aristocratic Maya Sarabhai (Ratna Pathak Shah), the family matriarch, were additional reasons for her popularity.
Along with Sanrachna, actress Vaibhavi Upadhyay appeared in CityLights, Please Find Attached, Kya Qusoor Hai Amala Ka, and others. The actor has also appeared in programmes like CID and Adaalat. In 2020, she co-starred with Deepika Padukone in the film Chhapaak, and she appeared in the online series Zero KMS, which starred Naseeruddin Shah.
