The director Milap Zaveri, who also had shared his condolence of Nishikant’s death on Twitter cleared the air. Milap Tweeted saying the filmmaker is on life-support and is still alive. Nishikant Kamat is currently fighting between life and death. He is in a very critical condition right now. The doctors in Hyderabad are doing all they can to make him stable for good.

Fifty-year-old Kamat was admitted on July 31 to the private hospital in Gachibowli with “jaundice and abdominal distention.” The director is also suffering from “secondary infections” and is under the supervision of senior doctors.
He is diagnosed with chronic liver disease and other secondary infections and was in the intensive care unit for continuous monitoring under the supervision of a multi-disciplinary team of senior consultants comprising gastroenterologists, hepatologists, critical care, and others.
Talking about Nishikant Kamat, he made his directorial debut with Marathi film, Dombivali Fast, in 2005. The film became one of the biggest hits of the year in Marathi cinema and also won a National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi in 2006. The filmmaker hit the national spotlight when he directed the Hindi remake of Malayalam hit Drishyam, starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu in 2015. He also directed Force, Rocky Handsome, and Madaari. The director also appeared as an actor in Rocky Handsome, Julie 2, Bhavesh Joshi, and Saatchya Aat Gharat (Marathi).
