It is said that Mandakini had an affair with the famous gangster of the underworld, Dawood Ibrahim. The actress was born in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The actress never confessed her love publically for the gangster. Talking about her whereabouts, Mandakini lives with her husband Dr. Kagyur T. Rinpoche Thakur. They have two children, with a son named Rabil and daughter named Inaya Thakur. Now Mandakini and her husband run a Tibetan herbal center in Mumbai. Apart from this, Mandakini also teaches Tibet Yoga.
