After, actress and Samajwadi Party member Jaya Bachchan, Hema Malini come out in defense for the Bollywood industry. Hema Malini opens up about the drugs row in Bollywood in her latest interview. While in conversation with the media channel NDTV she reveals her insights on the drug angle related to Bollywood. In an emotional defense of the film industry, she said, “I got name, fame, respect, everything from this industry… it feels really hurtful.”
Talking further she says, Hema Malini reportedly said that Bollywood would always remain in high esteem and no one could bring it down in flashover allegations like drugs and nepotism.

Hema Malini, though a rival in politics, backed Jaya Bachchan’s sentiment. “I want to tell people, Bollywood beautiful place, a creative world, it is an art and culture industry… I feel very hurt when I hear people talking so badly about it, about drugs and things like that…Where doesn’t it happen? But if there is a stain, you wash it off and it goes. The stain on Bollywood will also go,”
However, the actress also agrees with actor and politician Ravi Kishan, who raised the issue of drug addiction being rampant in the film industry. “I agree with what Ravi Kishan has said that there are few people and especially, the youngsters who are indulging in drugs. We, as an industry, should come together and stop this menace from spreading in the film industry.”
