The Sapno Ki Chhalaang actress Sadhwi Majumdar says she enjoys portraying her character, Sreemoyi, in the show. The actress claims that she has a lot of similarities to both her character in the serial Sapno Ki Chhalaang.
The actress confesses, “The theme of the programme is that the bigger the dream, the greater the leap that must be made in order to make it a reality. Sreemoyi is a vivacious, funny, and pleasant girl. She is not scared to express her opinions and sticks up for what she believes in. Also, she’s a touch crazy and dirty, but aren’t all creative people? She is passionate about aesthetics and vibes, both for objects and for people, and she adores her outfits and accessories.”
Serial Sapno Ki Chhalaang:
She continues, “I can find a lot of Sreemoyi in me. When I delve more into the character. I’m simultaneously learning and unlearning a lot of things. I’m a 25-year-old living with other roommates in a leased home in Mumbai. Like my alter ego, Sreemoyi. I moved to Mumbai six years ago. I am a young woman from a small village who comes from a pretty average middle-class household and has high goals. Everything that the show represents, I am. I want to try to make a difference by using my craft to draw attention to important concerns.”
Sadhwi responds, “I’m extremely selectively outgoing and social in my daily life, so that’s how I prepared for my job. I barely leave the house, I don’t go to parties, and I adore my job. To take on the skin of Sreemoyee, I had to strip off everything. I began acting more extrovertedly both professionally and in my personal life. I’ve been putting a lot of effort into improving my Hindi in addition to being proud of and at ease with who I am and my origins.”
She adds of working with Nilanjana Purkayastha and Herumb Khot (of Invictus T Mediaworks), “I knew I adored that woman from the very first meeting I had with Nilanjana mam. She knows what she’s talking about, is witty, and is of the highest calibre. On set, I got to know Herumb Sir, and he is the loveliest. Their outlook and ‘let’s think outside the box’ mentality are motivating. Without our director, Arif sir, I would never have been able to play Sreemoyi in the way that I do.”
