Her health had deteriorated earlier in the day, according to a statement from her doctor at the Breach Candy Hospital.
Breach Candy Hospital’s Dr. Pratit Samdhani stated, “Lata Mangeshkar’s condition has deteriorated again, and she is on a ventilator and critical. He stated that she is in the intensive care unit and is being monitored. Last Monday, she was taken off the ventilator. After contracting COVID, Mangeshkar, 92, was hospitalized for breach Candy in the first week of January.
“We are treating her. Although her condition is serious, she is tolerating and responding to treatment,” Dr. Pratit remarked to the media stationed outside the hospital.
On January 11, the 92-year-old singer was admitted to the hospital after testing positive for COVID-19.
Lata Mangeshkar is known as India’s nightingale and has been awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honor. She’s also received the Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, Dadasaheb Phalke Award, and several National Film Awards.
