On April 29, we celebrate International Dance Day, and we think everyone can dance. However, these industry actors and actresses have loved dance since they were young. These five actresses have studied traditional Indian dance.
International Dance Day:
Richa Chadha – Kathak:
Chadha is a genuine admirer of all art forms and is highly knowledgeable about Kathak. Richa received professional training in the Kathak classical dance style as a child, but she had to stop because of her board exams. She then went back to practising for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi, which required silence while doing Kathak.
Taapsee Pannu Bharatanatyam:
She hasn’t danced all that much on the big screen. A qualified Bharatanatyam dancer, Tapsee Pannu. She was first exposed to this dance style in fourth grade. She also took it seriously and was recognised with numerous prizes in college and university.
Rani Mukerji – Odissi:
If you have ever witnessed Rani Mukerji play live on stage, it is just breathtaking. When she was in her tenth grade, the actress treated it seriously. The actress has performed at a number of award ceremonies and live engagements. She has also said that she wants to develop a movie that showcases her prowess at dancing the Odissi.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas – Kathak:
Who would have guessed that Priyanka Chopra Jonas, a modern-day icon, had a hidden gift for understanding Indian traditional dance? We now understand the origin of her elegant dancing motions. She used to dance so gracefully, according to revelations, that her guruji used to compliment her.
Kriti Sanon – Kathak:
Kriti has been studying Kathak dance since she was eight years old and is also a trained Kathak dancer. The Panipat song Mard Maratha gives you a taste of her classical style. Kriti is a graceful dancer who frequently displays her love for dance during performances.
