Years after taking a subtle jab at Deepika Padukone’s melancholy, Kangana Ranaut showered her with admiration at the Oscars. Deepika, according to her, “stands tall as a tribute to the fact that Indian women are the best,” she claimed. Actor Kangana Ranaut commended Deepika Padukone for opening the Oscars with the classic song Naatu Naatu from SS Rajamouli’s RRR. Kangana shared a tweet from Deepika on Monday morning in which she described the dance.
Kangana penned: “It may not have been easy for @deepikapadukone to stand there keeping the entire country together, bearing its reputation and image on those delicate shoulders, and speaking so kindly and fearlessly. Indian women are the best, and Deepika is a shining example of this (national flag and red love emojis).” Kangana also went on to compliment Deepika saying she looks very beautiful at the Oscars!

Thank god you are praising someone! You need to chill, relax and take things lightly. I am your fan and I don’t like to see people taking a dig at your mental health and opinions on everything! Love 💕

A few years after making a veiled jab at Deepika, Kangana now praises the latter. On World Mental Health Day in 2020, Kangana urged her followers to see her movie, Judgementall Hai Kya. “The film that we made for Mental Health awareness was taken to the court by those who operate depression ki Dukan, after the media ban, the name of the film was changed just before the release causing marketing issues but it’s a good video, do view it today,” she had also tweeted.
A journalist questioned Kangana about her thoughts on Deepika being called out for her “hemlines and necklines” during the Gehraiyaan promotions last year. The actress reacted by saying, “Look, I’m here to defend those who can’t defend themselves. Alright? She is capable of self-defence. She has the opportunity, and the stage, and I am unable to advocate for her movie here. Settle down.”
Deepika Padukone is currently shining bright internationally. Moreover, she has made sure to make India proud globally. The actress never fails to impress the Indian audience with her graceful and flamboyant representation of India on the world stage. Click here to get more updates from the Oscars.
