Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar brought in the most money at the box office last week, putting in over Rs 45 crores (over Rs 37 crores). When Pathaan was still in contention, Kabzaa (in Hindi) and Zwigato both hit theatres, bringing in a combined total of about Rs 8 crores. Rani Mukerji’s courtroom drama and the family rom-com starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor attracted the most viewers. Let us take a look at Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway box office collection.
Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway Box Office Collection
The March 17 release of “Mrs. Chatterjee Vs. Norway,” starring Rani Mukerji, has a respectable start at the box office. Yet, thanks to good word of mouth, commerce increased during the first weekend. The movie had to contend with competition from the earlier-week release “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar,” yet it was able to stand on its own very well.
When ‘Mrs. Chatterjee Vs. Norway’ was released alongside ‘Zwigato’ and ‘Kabzaa,’ but it did not fare as well. The outcome of these films will be further determined by the upcoming weekend.
Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway ended its first week with a total of Rs 10.51 crores after earning Rs 6.42 crores over the weekend and a little more than Rs 4 crores during the weekdays. This is a reasonable total for the movie, especially considering that weekday collections remained consistent, with Thursday’s total coming in at Rs 0.82 crore. The good news is that it hasn’t dropped much from the first day’s total of Rs 1.27 crores, which is unusual today.
The movie should now aim for a second-week drop of no more than 30%–40%. It would position it for a lifetime of over Rs 20 crores. This would be respectable for a setup of this scale and size.
The movie made Rs 1.27 crore at the box office on Wednesday. The domestic total is now 9.69 crore net. Wednesday was also a holiday in some areas because of Gudi Padwa. This appears to have contributed to an increase in movie attendance even on Tuesday night.
In terms of international markets, the movie has brought in a total of 18.57 crore. It surpassed “Pathaan’s” previous record in Norway to become the movie with the biggest opening there.
