When she saw my image, we received a message saying Dilip Saab ko Andar bulao (call Dilip Kumar inside), which was the biggest praise I’d ever received. I had the opportunity to meet her, and she wished me well and inquired about my feelings for Dilip Kumar. ‘When I told her, she went, “Mujhse zyaada Pyaar nahi kar sakte (you can’t love him more than me); my eyes welled up”.

“I was young and had never seen a movie before. My father took me to see ‘Bairaag,’ which had just come out around the time of the kite festival. When we exited the theatre, I raced to grab a kite. My father caught me and was about to smack me. The venue’s security officer stopped him and informed him that I looked like Dilip Kumar. Dilip Kumar, I believe, rescued me from being smacked by my father.”
