Nawazuddin Siddiqui insights:
Talking about nepotism, Nawaz shared that it prevails everywhere. However, he holds the audience responsible, ‘more than anyone’, for the existence of nepotism in the acting industry. He reasoned the same by saying, “Because the audiences go and watch their films. They make it big and no one else.” However, he feels this is still the beauty of this industry as despite of struggles there are a number of new actors who come and make it big. He further said, “They get established well in the industry. They get recognition. So this blame game should stop.”
Nawazuddin also shared that he misses Irrfan Khan. He also confessed that Irrfan has been his mentor. The actor added, “He has also supported me to grow in my career. He took me as a lead actor in his first film. Then he also took me in ‘Warrior’. There are a few films of me and Irrfan which didn’t release till date. So there has been a long association with him.”
Talking about Aamir Khan he said that during his debut movie Sarfarosh, he had no interaction with Aamir. The actor was quoted as, “After ‘Sarfarosh’ and before ‘Talaash’, I had met Aamir Khan during Peepli Live. He used to come on the sets and once while shooting, I thought I should tell him that we had met during ‘Sarfarosh’ and we had done a minute role in that film.” Siddiqui also said that Aamir was happy knowing it. He even stopped the film shoot and told everyone about their scene from the movie.
