After Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, many Bollywood biggies were called out due to promoting nepotism. Sonam Kapoor was one of them. She had to face intense wrath and anger of the netizens as she is a star-kid. This led her to quit social media for a while to fetch her mental peace. She also had to switch her comments section off on Instagram to avoid the negativity that poured in from all ends. Now, the actress has come forward to speak on the same. In an interview to NDTV, she talked about the stressful times that she faced in the virtual world. Just like other celebs, the actress also had a tough time in the past few months.
Sonam Kapoor Discloses her Thoughts on Dealing with Social Media Hatred:
The actress was quoted as, “I had some stressful times in the last three or four months, mentally. There is a lot of stuff that happens on social media, there is a lot of hate and talk of a lot of things. It put me in a very low and negative space. But now I am much better.”
In June, Sonam had also shared a screenshot of nasty messages that had been receiving. She had then written in a post, “Yes I’ve switched off my comment section and my parents comment section because I don’t want my 64 year old parents to go through this. They did nothing to deserve this. And I’m not doing it out of fear you morons I’m doing it out of common sense to preserve my mental health and my parents.”
