Sushant Singh Rajput, as per reports, committed suicide on June 14, in his Bandra apartment in Mumbai. The Kai Po Che actor’s sudden demise has left the nation with umpteen unanswered questions. The late actor’s father, Mr. K.K. Singh, has filed an F.I.R. against the actor’s girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, and her family. The seven-page F.I.R. states how Rhea manipulated her boyfriend, Sushant, and distanced him from his family. The report also mentions unusual money transfers from Sushant’s bank account. The report was filed in Rajiv Nagar Police Station, Patna. This gave rise to the probe being done in a parallel manner by the police of two states, Bihar and Maharashtra. Mumbai Police to not transfer documents to Bihar:
To react to the same, Mumbai Police has communicated that they would not be handing over any documents to the Bihar Police. Giving the reason for their decision, they said, Bihar Police hold no jurisdiction in this case. As per reports, the legal opinion clearly states that Chapter XII and Chapter XIII of Criminal Procedure Code mention that the case should be investigated and tried by the police and the court under whose jurisdictions the crime has been committed. Clarifying that the Bihar Police has no role to play.
Maharashtra Home Minister, Anil Deshmukh, had said that Mumbai Police is doing their jobs sincerely and an investigation is on the right track. He also had mentioned that there would be no CBI inquiry in Sushant’s case.
However, the Bihar Government has recently recommended a CBI probe into the Sushant’s death case.
