Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh and Deepika Padukone, is scheduled for release on January 25 of next year. Numerous Hindu organizations have warned theatres not to show it, raising the volume of the call for a boycott Pathan on Friday.
Hindu Outfits Boycott Pathaan And Warns To Burn Theaters
On Thursday, Mahant Raju Das of Hanuman Garhi (Ayodhya) called for the destruction of every theatre exhibiting Pathaan and called for a boycott of the movie. In a video, Mahant is heard saying that the Sanatan Dharma has been insulted in the film Pathaan and that people should burn down the theatres where the movie is being screened, according to India Today.
Deepika Padukone insensitively wore a saffron-colored bikini, which offended saints and the entire country’s religious sensibilities. The Mahant questioned, “What was the necessity to perform such dances wearing a saffron bikini in the song?”
Mahant claims that Shah Rukh Khan has repeatedly violated “Sanatan Dharma” and that “severe action should be taken against them” since “this was done purposefully to damage religious emotions.”
The controversy surrounding the film “Besharam Rang” started after one of the songs from the film was released, in which Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone can be seen dancing in Spain. In the video, Deepika is sporting a saffron-colored monokini, while Shah Rukh is sporting a beach shirt.
Panthan Movie Lands In Trouble
After the song video was released, some people instantly started criticizing Deepika’s clothing choice. Saffron-colored bikinis appear to have upset several people’s religious sensibilities, notably Hindus. Due to Deepika’s appearance in the music video wearing the color saffron. The song’s title, which loosely translates to “shameless color,” has also generated debate.
The Hindu Sena also threatened the owners of movie theatres on Friday to cease playing the film Pathaan. The Hindu Sena’s president, Vishnu Gupta, has also issued a cautionary statement in this regard by releasing a video today.
“Hindu Sena wrote a letter to the censor board over the movie Pathaan. We won’t permit the film’s distribution if our letter is ignored. Hindu Sena will organize a significant protest in opposition. I also warn the local theatre owners and PVRs. They will be responsible for any damage caused by the protesters if Pathaan is released,” Gupta said.
