The multi-talented Sargun Mehta recently got candid about her experience of working in a male-dominated industry. The actress-turned-producer opens up about her struggles working in a patriarchal industry. Sargun confesses how her job as a producer is not only to invest. She believes she also has to look into the creative aspect of the projects she is investing in.
Sargun has often been appreciated for going against the wind and doing something remarkable. She has always impressed her fans with her projects and hard work. Her unconventional choices are what make the audience appreciate her. The actress gets candid about her struggles working in a male-dominated industry.
Sargun Mehta:
Sargun says, “People tend to take me lightly thinking I am a woman and I know nothing about producing. Regardless, I take it optimistically. They think they are taking me for a ride and I know nothing, actually, I know a little more. I do my research and surprise them with my skills. This is how I always win by turning my weak point into my strength. Therefore, when they take me lightly, I take them for a ride instead.”
She further points out, “Things are the same for the men, maybe in a different way but they face struggles too. The reason behind this is that we live in a world where people cannot see others winning.”
For the unversed, Sargun runs a production house Dreamiyata Entertainments along with her husband Ravi Dubey. The couple has produced several bigwig TV serials including Swaran Ghar and Udaariyaan.
On the work front, Sargun Mehta was recently seen in the movie Babe Bhangra Paunde Ne. Apart from this, she also did a prominent role in the Akshay Kumar and Rakul Preet Singh starrer film Cuttputli on Disney+ Hotstar.
