When the first lockdown was announced by the government, all the theatres across the country were shut. All of this happened for an extensive period. Ajay Devgn’s Bhuj – The Pride of India was one of the first movies to set eyes upon the OTT platforms for the release. Disney+ Hotstar was chosen as the preferred platform for the same. While other titles acquired by Hotstar before, after or along with Bhuj, such as Laxmii, Khuda Haafiz, Lootcase, The Big Bull, Dil Bechara have premiered on the digital streaming service, the historical war film is yet to see the light of day, with no official word yet on its release date.
Ajay Devgn’s Bhuj – The Pride of India to Release on THIS Date
However, now, the suspense of the release date of Bhuj seems to be over. Bollywood Life got in touch with one of the most reliable industry insiders, film exhibitor and distributor Akshaye Rathi who has revealed some important information.
“Tentatively, 15th August weekend (the release). It’s not been officially announced yet, but probably hearing from people associated with the film or who’ve worked on the film that it’s 15th August,” revealed Akshaye Rathi when asked about Bhuj’s release date.
Speaking about a few portions that were left to shoot, he added, “They’ve all been completed. If you remember, in-between, Ajay Devgn had gone to Hyderabad to shoot at Ramoji (film studio). So he completed Bhuj and after that he shot Mayday. First Bhuj was shot there and the entire patchwork was completed. The entire movie is complete.”
Bhuj: The Pride of India also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Nora Fatehi, Pranita Subhash, Ammy Virk and Sharad Kelkar. It’s helmed by Abhishek Dudhaiya. This movie will mark his feature-film directorial debut with the movie.
