The most awaited Bandra Film Festival is all set to be back with a bang. The well-accredited film festival will screen the Irrfan Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer movie The Bypass. Yes, you have read that right! The legendary late actor Irrfan and the veteran versatile actor Nawazuddin have done a splendid job in the film.
The Bypass movie will be screened under the theme Hidden Gems and will release on 30th August 2022. The film is written and directed by Amit Kumar. The Bypass is a short silent movie from the year 2003. It is filmed on a stranded road in Rajasthan, India. Having no dialogues, this short proves to deliver pure cinema through spectacular, raw & textbook acting of the actors. The film was earlier screened at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and Aubagne Film Festival.

The Bypass is about two friends (played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sundar Dan) who frequently mug and ultimately kill the people who travel by the nearby road and Irrfan Khan played the role of a corrupt police officer.
The festival has been showcasing an array of features and unique films based on the 3 categories of Hidden Gems, Off the Beaten Path and New Discoveries on its YouTube channel. Continuing to champion the cause of independent films and filmmakers. The Film Festival has Abhay Deol and Assem Chhabra on its advisory board. It has kick-started in February 2021, showcasing almost 100 films from filmmakers across the country cutting across genres, languages and formats.
