Diwali party every year at Bachchan’s has been a tradition for all the industry people. Amitabh Bachchan has always kept this tradition alive. However, 2020 has not come to us like a normal year. The year brought extreme highs and lows. Due to the wake of global coronavirus pandemic, Big B has decided to call off the party. In addition, the huge loss of Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan that the industry incurred is also one of the reasons for the same.
Amitabh Bachchan and Ekta Kapoor Cancel the Diwali Party this Year | Reason Inside
As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Ekta Kapoor has also joined the decision of Bachchans. The report says that the decision has been taken keeping in mind the spread of deadly coronavirus and the loss of dear ones like Rishi Kapoor. Rishi was not only a good friend of Amitabh Bachchan but also a family to them. Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter Shweta Nanda is married to Nikhil Nanda who is Rishi Kapoor’s nephew. Not only this, the family also lost Ritu Nanda, Nikhil’s mother and sister of Rishi, earlier this year to cancer. The year 2020 also saw the death of Irrfan Khan that made a void in the Hindi Film industry.
To add to this, the acting industry was also shut down for around five months. It was only in August when the actors flew to start shooting for their upcoming movies. The Bachchans were also tested positive for the coronavirus. Amitabh, Abhishek, Aishwarya and Big B’s granddaughter Aaradhya, were all admitted to Nanavati Hospital. The family saw a tough time together. Amitabh resumed shoot for Kaun Banega Crorepati only after testing negative for the virus. The family also underwent a quarantine period.
