Kangana Ranaut has been in the headlines constantly during the year 2020. The actress kept saying or doing something that attracted eyes. She has been bashing Bollywood a lot lately. The ‘vilification’ of Bollywood, as they say, was a major centre of discussions throughout the year. Kangana bashed Karan Johar his colleagues by calling them flag bearer or nepotism, Bullywood and whatnot. Through her social media posts, she has been targetting the Bollywood actors left, right and centre. Her mentor Anurag Basu and she had collaborated for a number of projects in the beginning. Their combined work includes, Murder, Gangster, Life… In a Metro and Kites. Now the director has opened up about how Kangana was so different back then versus now.

Anurag revealed to Mid-day that several actresses were auditioned, however, Kangana’s face was stuck in his mind. He said, “Of the 20-25 girls we auditioned for the part, her face just stuck in my head – there was something unique about her.” He added, “In the beginning, she needed guidance for everything. But she is a really fast learner. I have seen her growth during the filming of Gangster itself.”
Anurag went on to praise the freshness that Kangana had in her. He also brought to the fore that she had something novel about her. He was quoted as, “There was something very raw and organic about her, very refreshing, very new.”
Talking about Kangana’s changed personality, Anurag said, “There was something very raw and organic about her, very refreshing, very new.”
The duo was also supposed to collaborate for Anurag’s Imali but Kangana backed out later. She expressed that she did feel bad about it but she had to focus on the release of the movie that she had directed.
