Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise has left the nation with many unanswered questions. The Kai Po Che actor was only 34 when he committed suicide. His case is taking a new turn everyday, newer angles and truths are being revealed. Recently, on Tuesday, Sushant’s father, K.K. Singh, filed an F.I.R. against Rhea Chakraborty and her family on grounds of abetment to suicide, cheating and many more. The latest updates to this case state that a Supreme Court lawyer, Sarthak Nayak, has written a letter to the Chief Justice of Bombay High Court in order to seek an independent inquiry into the actor’s strange & untimely demise.
Letter by the Supreme Court Lawyer
Reports suggests, the lawyer has proposed the inquiry by an individual body like Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or Special Investigation Team (SIT). The report mentions the probe to be done by a retired judge and that the move was made on “interesting grounds.” Since the case now involves Police from two different states, Mumbai and Bihar, stating ‘problems in co-ordination’ between the police from two different states, the ‘best interest of justice’ lies in starting the independent probe. Report also states that, the fact that Sushant’s father decided to file the case in Bihar, it does not conform jurisdiction in Patna.
He also went on to mention that when Rhea Chakraborty was being questioned by the Mumbai Police, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh tweeted that ‘Sushant had committed suicide owing to depression born out of professional rivalry.’ The Home Minister had also thanked Mumbai Police in his tweet. He states, ‘It was an attempt to save Rhea.’
Referring to Aruchi Talwar’s case, he said that when the CBI was given a green signal to go ahead with the case, it was ‘too late to collect evidence.’ He claimed the evidence of the case was already tampered by then and the same needs to be avoided in Sushant’s Singh Rajput’s case.
He also said the police is only beating around the bush and even when the questioning has been on, ‘no FIR has been filed’.
