The second covid-19 wave is proving to be disastrous on all of us. The coronavirus cases are rising heavily resulting in the businesses being affected. Just like other industries, the entertainment town is also stuck. The movie buffs are again sad owing to the new restrictions due to the hike in coronavirus patients. A few months ago, the Maharashtra government had opened cinema halls to 50 per cent capacity. This gave the producers a sigh of relief. During this time, some movies were also released. However, now, yet again, the state government has shared revised lockdown details. In this lockdown, the theatres and cinema halls will be shut to control the insane increase in the covid-19 cases in the state. This news is sure to give a tough time to movie producers. Many were awaiting the release of Salman Khan’s Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai and Kangana Ranaut’s Thalaivi.
But now it seems like the makers will have to revisit the release dates of these films plus John Abraham’s Satyamev Jayate 2.
Kangana Ranaut’s Thalaivi, Salman Khan’s Radhe & John Abraham’s Satyamev Jayate 2 to Bear the Brunt of Rising Covid-19 Cases | Release Postponed?
An industry insider told Bollywood Life that the producers will not want to release their projects in this scenario. “It is not a city that will be following the new restrictions but an entire state. And Maharashtra has always played an important role when it comes to the box office collections of Hindi films. With this new decision, Kangana Ranaut’s Thalaivi, Salman Khan’s Radhe and John Abraham’s Stayamev Jayate 2 stand to suffer. It will be best if the release dates are revised.”
It remains to be seen how the producers of these films approach the problem at hand. Some news portals are also reporting that these films might not be released in the state of Maharashtra which means a huge crunch at the box office for them.
