Ram Setu movie review:
Akshay Kumar’s latest film Ram Setu is like a long WhatsApp forward video that has VFX thrown in. The screenplay of Ram Setu is loosely based on the pseudo-scientific study Dating the Era of Lord Rama by Pushkar Bhatnagar. The film has borrowed a few ideas from the blockbuster Hollywood series National Treasure. For the unversed, just like in National Treasure, Ram Setu also features bounty hunters who are scrambling to find the truth in the conspiracy theories.
The VFX of the film is very gimmicky. Adding to this, even the performances in the film are below average. Ram Setu seeks to jump to an imagined golden age, without building a bridge. Talking about the actress Jacqueline Fernandes, she seems like a decorative piece in the movie. For others, there is a clear message; those who don’t believe in Lord Ram, their faces deserve to be blackened.
Ram Setu has enough faces that keep the devotees interested throughout the movie. So, if you are a devotee then you should definitely watch this film once at the theatre. Ram Setu will also hit the OTT screens soon. If you do not want to watch the movie at the theatre then you can wait for its OTT release.
Bollywood Hush will rate the film Ram Setu 2 stars out of 5. Tell us, your Ram Setu movie review through the comment section.
