The most recent illustration of this is Student of the Year 2, which serves as historical proof that Bollywood is horrible at creating sequels. It was a really poor follow-up that made the first film appear much better than it actually was. However, since Bhool Bhulaiyyaa has such an intriguing backstory and is being directed by Farhad Samji, whose films have always been quite entertaining, we certainly have great expectations for it. Let’s look at the top 10 Bollywood Movies that merit a follow-up.
Bollywood Movies that deserve a Sequel:
1- Andaz Apna Apna
Even when rumours of a new film by director Rajkumar Santoshi swiftly dissipated, fans still had high hopes for a continuation of this delightful comedy from 1994. Finding out that was disappointing because a prospective Andaz Apna Apna 2 would have been effective as well. After all these years, we still like seeing Amar and Prem’s shenanigans since the movie is timeless. The star of the movie, though, is Shakti Kapoor’s Crime Master Gogo, and because he is a “Khandaani Chor,” we would happily watch an entire franchise of him robbing anybody and everything he can.
2- Dil Chahta Hai:
For creating a masterpiece like Dil Chahta Hai, Farkha Akhtar deserves to receive all the praise. The movie, which starred Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Akshay Khanna, served as Farhan’s directing debut. Even though it will be hard for anyone else to match the calibre of DCH, we’d be interested to see how Farhan would write the story if a sequel were to ever be produced.
3- Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaenge:
There is no way you could have avoided falling in love with Raj and Simran while watching DDLJ if you are a hopeless romantic. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaenge, one of the most cherished Bollywood movies, is still playing in theatres 24 years after its debut. It’s obvious that this film deserves a sequel more than any other Bollywood film that has ever been produced. However, we would only agree to the sequel under the condition that not a single character would be replaced.
4- Rockstar
Rockstar, one of Ranbir Kapoor’s most well-liked films, is and will always be absolutely unique. It’s admirable what Imtiaz Ali did with the movie’s plot, and all we want is to see RK and Imtiaz collaborate once more on a Rockstar sequel.
5- Jab We Met
Wouldn’t it be hilarious to see Geet back on the big screen? This was Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor’s final movie together, and it was hated. Kareena and Sasha’s performance in Jab We Met was successful and gave them new career opportunities in Bollywood. Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met, one of the most recognisable films to date, should unquestionably have a sequel.
6- Ghajini
Now that we are aware that Asin perishes in the film, we may assume that if she ever plans to make a comeback in Bollywood, Aamir Khan will play her love interest in the Ghajini sequel. Probably a plot where Aamir’s character runs across Asin’s character’s doppelganger and that’s when everything restarts?
7- 3 Idiots
3 Idiots, one of Rajkumar Hirani’s best films, addressed numerous themes still present in education today. A movie like that deserves a sequel, for sure.
8- Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
We learned to live life to the fullest. And to appreciate each moment as it comes from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is and will always be a great movie since it offers a novel perspective on life and relationships. How about creating the sequel this time using the actresses?
9- Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham
We would desire a sequel to this movie for one and only one reason: POOH! If you told yourself that you’d never tried reciting her speech while gazing in the mirror, you’d be lying to yourself.
10- Maine Pyaar Kyun Kia
Although there wasn’t enough room in the finale for a sequel. Wouldn’t you want to watch Salman Khan and Sushmita Sen’s relationship on the big screen once more?
