The veteran Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah is known to speak his heart whenever he weighs in on a topic. The actor never minces his words and is known to always stand for the right. This time too, he didn’t hold back while taking a dig at Akshay Kumar and The Kashmir Files filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri.
Commenting on the BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma’s remark about Prophet Muhammad, the veteran actor left no stones unturned. He even went on to say how some countries are slamming her comment, but the three Khans and Akshay Kumar have chosen to remain silent on the same.
Actor Naseeruddin Shah:
Let us tell you, that countries such as UAE, Oman, Indonesia, Iraq, the Maldives, Jordan, Libya and Bahrain have decided to boycott Indian products for making derogatory comments. Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut supported the politician for her derogatory remark. In a recent interview, Naseeruddin Shah says; “The hate is manufactured and it is a venom that spews when you are confronted with an opposing view. TV news and social media are responsible for this.”
He further went on to add about the silence of the three Khans & Akshay Kumar, “I cannot speak for them. I am not in the position they are in. I feel they think they would be risking too much. But then, I don’t know how they explain it to their own conscience about it. But I think they are in a position where they have too much to lose.”
Taking a sly dig at Akshay Kumar who often makes patriotic films and Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files, Naseeruddin Shah says, “They want to be on the winning side.” He also calls Vivek’s film ‘an almost fictionalised version of the suffering of Kashmiri Hindus’ and said that the ‘government is promoting it’.
