Recently we heard the news of Akshay Kumar charging a YouTuber Rs. 500 crores for defaming him related to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. However, now the Youtuber Rashid Siddiquee on Friday denied the allegations blamed on him by actor. Siddiquee said that there was nothing derogatory in his YouTube videos about the Sushant Singh case. This reply was in response to Akshay Kumar’s defamation notice seeking Rs 500 crore in damages.

Rashid said, Akshay should withdraw the notice, failing which he would initiate “appropriate legal proceedings”. Akshay had sent the legal notice to Rashid on November 17 to Siddiquee seeking compensation for making “false and baseless allegations” against him. The notice by Akshay was sent through legal firm I C Legal. It said Siddiquee in his YouTube channel FF News had uploaded several “defamatory, libelous and derogatory” videos.
The Youtuber sent his reply through advocate J P Jayswal on Friday. The reply was the allegations made by Akshay Kumar were “false, vexatious and oppressive and is raised with an intent to harass him”.
After Kai Po Che actor Sushant’s demise, several independent reporters including Siddiquee covered the news. This so happened as many influential people were involved and prominent news channels were not providing correct information, Rashid said.
The reply also talked about fundamental right to freedom of speech which every Indian citizen as. It said, the content uploaded by Siddiquee cannot be considered as defamatory as it was “viewpoints with objectivity”
In addition, the reply even questioned the delay in sending the defamation notice as the videos were uploaded in August, two months after Rajput’s death.
The Mumbai police had filed a against Rashid for defamation and public mischief over his posts against the police, the Maharashtra government and minister Aaditya Thackeray. On November 3, he was granted an anticipatory bail by a local court.
