The Kerala Story Controversy
According to a recent ANI report, the Kerala State Committee of the Muslim Youth League has offered a prize of Rs 1 crore to anyone who can demonstrate the veracity of the claims and accusations made in the movie. They stated that beginning in May, collecting centers for submitting documentation will be available in every district. Anyone may drop off their information at the collection points. Even a Muslim lawyer and actor had stated that he would reward Rs. 11 lahks to anybody who brought the proof. Even if evidence of 32 such women is shown to him, he stated he would still award the money.
“Prove the claims that 32,000 Keralites migrated to Syria after becoming Christians. Accept the challenge and provide the supporting documentation,” the committee’s poster urged.
The Kerala State Community of Muslim Youth League announced the award for The Kerala Story and argued that the claims made against the Muslim community in the film are untrue and without merit. This comes as The Kerala Story has sparked significant political controversy in the region, with the state administration and numerous political organizations calling for the film’s exhibition to be outlawed because they claim it conveys false information about the Muslim population.
“I am offering 11 lakh rupees to those who publish information, such as names and addresses of women who were converted to Islam and joined the Islamic State by Muslim youth of Kerala. There is no need to provide evidence for 32,000 women; 32 is sufficient,” C Shukkur wrote in a Facebook post.
