Bigg Boss 16, the Salman Khan-hosted reality series, made headlines during the previous weekend for the beef between Shalin Bhanot and Tina Datta. The show is generating interest for several reasons, but the most recent discussion on social media is about the absence of Bollywood superstar and host Salman Khan. According to an ETimes article, directors Farah Khan and Karan Johar will provide cover for Salman Khan.
Salman Khan reportedly only provided dates to the Bigg Boss 16 producers up until mid-January. However, given the lineup of his future Bollywood flicks and the fact that the season of this reality show has been prolonged, Salman Khan has a jam-packed schedule.
He did, however, agree to host the Bigg Boss 16 grand finale, which provided a significant reprieve for the channel. The news outlet added that although the season was set to expire in the middle of January, the channel decided to give it a go by extending it.
Salman Khan wasn’t shocked to learn that Bigg Boss 16 would be extended. Bigg Boss 13 and its extension were a huge success, and the channel continued in that vein for the ensuing seasons. Salman has chosen not to host the Weekend Ka Vaars because he doesn’t have any suitable dates. Farah Khan and Karan Johar will alternate directing the episodes.
Farah Khan and Karan Johar, have both presented the show in the past. The director of Tees Maar Khan was last seen on Bigg Boss 16 when he even offered contestant Shalin Bhanot a reality check.
According to the report, there is no ill will between the channel and Salman Khan. The Dabangg actor has even said that if his schedule permits, he would even show up and host a few episodes of the current season. Farah Khan, a choreographer, and filmmaker, and Karan Johar are returning to the show as hosts for the second time. In the past, Salman’s role has also been filled by Karan and Farah.
