“As an actor, I value the long tradition and allure of the lovely songs that have been a staple of Bollywood. Even if the music business has changed and diversified over time, those traditional Bollywood love songs still have a unique quality. Every song has a certain charm of its own and has a specific place in the hearts of listeners. Bhaage Re Mann from the film Chameli and Dhak Dhak Karne Laga from the movie Beta are two famous examples that come to mind. One of our responsibilities as actors is to bring stories and characters to life, which frequently entails acting out various live situations.”
“While it is obviously attractive and romantic to see myself as a heroine in chiffon sarees in snow-covered settings, my primary focus is on giving a strong performance. It’s crucial to create a balance between safeguarding the safety of the actors and producing visually attractive scenes in movies. As much as I admire the grace of such numbers, I also think that everyone involved in the filmmaking process should be comfortable and safe. Without jeopardising the performers’ well-being, realistic romance and songs that are easy to film can yet arouse emotions and capture the attention of the viewer. Bollywood can grow and change, therefore I think there is potential for both nostalgic nods to the past and modern, realism-based approaches to love stories and musical numbers.”

“Because there are so many beautiful songs featuring women wearing ethereal sarees, it’s difficult for me to choose a favourite chiffon saree number. It is encouraging to see how these songs have portrayed grace and elegance, as each song has a unique appeal and meaning. Whether I’m portraying romance in real life or on screen, as a performer, my goal is to give the characters I play honesty and depth. I applaud the effort put forth to strike a balance between creating visually gorgeous romantic numbers and taking into account the practical aspects of shooting, ensuring that the experience remains fun and beneficial for everyone involved. Bollywood can provide a huge variety of love songs.”
“I believe that Bollywood’s chiffon saree dance routines have become a recognisable representation of the genre’s romantic aesthetics. ‘Gerua’ from ‘Dilwale’ and ‘Teri Ore’ from ‘Singh is King’ are two of my all-time favourites. Mishra Shaan. Seeing beautiful tunes in romantic settings is wonderful. Films by Yash Chopra, such as Silsila, Chandni, and Lamhe, are well-known, and we have heard numerous captivating tunes. Such love routines are visual candy when one visits the theatre to have larger-than-life sensations. Since Alia Bhatt is an actor who often works in chilly environments, wearing woollen clothing is undoubtedly a choice after her scenes. Therefore, it’s fine and we shouldn’t pass judgement on it. Sridevi in Chandni songs is my favourite. She appears flawless.”

“I adore songs about chiffon saris worn by actors. In doing so, Yashraj Films was a pioneer. Sridevi was stunning and timeless in Chandni and Lamhe. Undoubtedly, I would like to perform such pieces. Even Rekha looked fantastic in Silsila. We’ve been searching for a life-size experience for years. Alia Bhatt has great looks. The music in the picture-perfect setting appears amazing and dreamlike. It’s a Bollywood custom that needs to be maintained. Suraj Hua Madham is one of my favourites.”

“It would be like consistently consuming a dull meal if those songs weren’t there. The soundtrack and other components were what created an amazing movie. Songs would transport us emotionally to the place we were when we first heard or saw them, and we would remember them for the rest of our lives. The lyrics were lyrical and meaningful above all else. With a few exceptions, I think that’s uncommon now. Oh God! There have been several, but Madhuri, Kate Nahin Kat Te with Sridevi, and anything with Mumtaz ji are always amazing. When it comes to dancing in chiffon sarees, only Rekha, Sridevi, Kajol, Rani, and most importantly, Madhuri can compete.”
“Never! I thought it was really sexist that the heroines were freezing to the point of maybe developing hypothermia while the hero was wearing layers and layers of clothing to stay warm. At its most ludicrous and vicious, it is. I have to concur with Karan on this and applaud him for his empathy. It’s just unwholesome and perhaps hazardous because, for instance, someone with a weakened immune system might pass out from the cold.”

“I genuinely miss wearing sarees, and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani has finally brought back those memories. I wear a Banarsi saree and occasionally a satin saree in Nath Krishna Aur Gauri Ki Kahani, my new Dangal TV programme. Every woman wants to wear a saree because it transforms you into the ideal woman. I’ve never worn a saree before, so I’m making my television debut in one for my new show. I don’t know much about chiffon sarees, but I do know that not everyone enjoys wearing them. “
“You feel regal when wearing a saree. A saree is not suitable for everyone, but other outfits can be handled with ease. A genuine cold setting is also quite difficult to shoot in a chiffon saree since when I shot in Manali a few years ago in a short garment, it was very difficult in that climate. My opinion does not only apply to sarees; occasionally, carrying short dresses on a shoot is also more challenging because you need to take care of your wardrobe, which is more difficult than carrying a saree. Another exceedingly difficult item to transport among 100 crew members is short dresses.”
