Pradeep Sarkar, a Bollywood filmmaker, has passed away. At the age of 68, the director, who produced blockbusters like Parineeta and Mardaani, passed away. The direct was taken to the hospital on March 24, 2023, at around 3 a.m. Sadly, Sarkar passed away at about 3:30 in the morning. Everyone in the business was devastated by his unfortunate passing. Celebrities from the Hindi film industry, including Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Vidya Balan, Dia Mirza, Rasika Dugal, and Vidhu Vinod Chopra, paid their tributes to the late Pradeep Sarkar. Nitu Chandra, an actress, broke the tragic news of Pradeep Sarkar’s passing. She tweeted, “The news of our beloved director @pradeepsrkar Dada is very painful. I began my career working for him. He had the visual ability to make his movies appear life-sized. From Parineeta’s Lagachunrimeindaag through several films. Dadda, we will miss you. Rest In Peace.”
Pradeep Sarkar’s Last Rites
The renowned director, who oversaw movies like Parineeta and Mardaani, died on March 24 in Bombay at the age of 68. The National Award-winning director allegedly underwent dialysis. His funeral was held in Santacruz, Mumbai, at 4 o’clock.
Pradeep’s family broke the news in a statement they made publicly. The statement read, “It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that Pradeep has departed from his heavenly abode. Please join us at 4 pm for his funeral at Santacruz Hindu Crematorium to say goodbye to him.” Check out the post below.
According to reports, Sarkar was receiving dialysis and his potassium levels plummeted. His wife took him to the hospital right away, where he passed away.
Pradeep Sarkar’s Career
Pradeep Sarkar made his directorial debut with Vidya and Saif Ali Khan’s Parineeta. Later, he directed several movies, including Mardaani, Lafangey Parindey, Helicopter Eela, Laaga Chunar Mein Daag, etc. He won a National Award for the movie, which also served as Vidya Balan’s feature film debut.
Pradeep later directed Lagaa Chunari Mein Daag, which featured Jaya Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, and Abhishek Bachchan. The movie premiered on October 12, 2007, in theaters. He then directed the 2014 successful movie Mardaani, starring Rani Mukerji and Neil Nitin Mukesh, followed by Lafangey Parindey. His most recent movie, Helicopter Eela, starred Kajol.
