Sikandar Kher is demonstrating how actors go above and beyond to get into the character they are portraying. In the Netflix web series Tooth Pari: When Love Bites, Sikandar is barely recognised. The actor, who plays an alcoholic police officer, has gained 15 kg for the part.
According to Sikandar, “In the series, I play the part of a cop in Kolkata, therefore I’m not wearing the khaki uniforms. However, Pritam (the director) wanted the cop to appear overweight since he is an alcoholic and has a particular attitude. I could have done it the simplest way by donning prosthetics and makeup, but I didn’t want to. I added 15 kg because, although I could definitely play the part, I wouldn’t feel it. Fortunately, I had arranged it so that I was able to shed all those additional pounds before the filming of Aarya began.”
Actor Sikandar Kher:
