Actress Kishwer Merchantt says she is excited about the opportunity to play Maya Costa in the upcoming Disney Plus Hotstar original series Dear Ishq, which is being produced by Yash and Mamta Patnaik (Beyond Dreams). She claims that the position and platform were what initially enticed her.
“I adored the part, and the concept of a daily soap that was only available on an OTT platform was incredible. This is my third performance after becoming a mother. I worked on Kaisi yeh Yaariyan season 4 on Voot and Fanaa on Colors. The character I’m playing is Maya, and she is Peter’s wife (Punit Tejwani).” She continues, “He is the proprietor of a publishing company called ‘Paperink,’ which isn’t doing too well, which is why he has to sign Abhimanyu Razdan (Sehban Azim) for his upcoming book.”
The actress has already appeared on Voot in Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan and enjoys the OTT service. “My most recent programme, Fanna, performed poorly on Colors TV but ranked second on Voot. Mostly because you can watch the show whenever you want. On television, however, there is a danger of missing both the primary broadcast and the rerun broadcast. People may watch it whenever they want on OTT platforms, and it is accessible to audiences of all ages.” According to the actress.
Kishwer Merchantt:
Although the TV industry has expanded, Kishwer Merchantt asserts that the programming must alter as well because “It has matured, yet it is still retrograde. But fresh material is being produced thanks to OTT platforms, so things are better currently. The timing of the shoots has also improved.” She says, “It’s my first show with them. I always wanted to work with them and embraced the opportunity when I got one. It’s been a pleasure working with Yash and Mamta Patnaik (Beyond Dreams Entertainment Private Limited). It is something I am eager for. I am now enjoying working with them.”
The actress is a mother as well, and she prioritises time management. “Well, fortunately for me, my parents and my in-laws are staying in the same building, so my kid Nirvair spends most of the day trudging up and down stairs. Suyyash creates music in his home studio, therefore unless he is travelling for gigs, he is also at home. He is being raised nicely, thus I am not at fault for leaving him with just the nanny. Additionally, my days will be shorter so I can spend more time with him.”
“I was always working on something after I had my son,” She continues, “My YouTube channel, my Instagram promotions. But even though I am not in the finest of condition and have just had a baby, I did miss appearing on television and am glad to be back. But I’m thrilled because I keep getting good roles.” “I am a person who can’t sit at home; I need to work,” She continues. “Since acting is my love and I need to stay busy, it was crucial for me to pick it back up again.”
