“As a single mum, you took on the world with courage and grace,” the actress Pooja Chopra cries. You worked hard, made sacrifices, and never gave up. Pooja Chopra, the first “Beauty with a Purpose” winner at Miss World and the winner of the Femina Miss India title, was overcome with emotion and uploaded a touching photo and message for her mother Neera Chopra.
Pooja chose to wish her fans and urge them to treat a female child no differently than a boy on Mother’s Day at a time when the majority of Bollywood celebs are uploading photographs of their mothers to social media. Also, Pooja wrote in the post about some difficult memories from her early life, including her single mother’s devotion and sacrifices, and how she would always be an inspiration to her.
The actress said, “As I searched through my phone for “the most perfect” photo to share on Instagram for Mother’s Day, Pooja Chopra continued. ‘More-than-perfect’ memories were found in plenty. When you don’t stop and keep searching, spinning years or even decades, nostalgia hits strongly. Even though I don’t have many images from my early years, I can clearly recall the occasions when they were all taken. When I was growing up, owning a camera and three square meals were both luxuries.”

She further added, “Pictures from my childhood brought back memories of how much I despised my mother for abandoning me and heading for work every morning. She had to go to work every day, but the mothers of all my other friends were at home with them all day, so I never understood why she had to.”
Pooja stated, “When I was younger, I assumed mom might not have loved me deeply enough, but it wasn’t until much later that I understood she only went to work because she loved it more than anything else in the world! I can only fathom the struggles you overcame on your own and still managed to grin at us. unconditionally loved us both and made numerous silent sacrifices. I continue to be amazed at how simple it seems for you to simultaneously be the best parent and mother. To my mother, the toughest lady I know. You faced the world head-on as a single mother with bravery and grace. You worked hard, made sacrifices, never gave up, and gave you all to make sure we had everything we needed. Maa, you are my inspiration and pillar of support.”
She also added, “In this life, all I want to do is make you proud, so proud that you forget about your past suffering and sorrows. I am aware that you have no expectations of me or of us, but we want to show you the world. The story that has accompanied me throughout my life is that I was left by my father. Today, I’d like to rewrite that story and proudly declare, “Chosen by my mother.” Thank you, Mumma. You help me feel like I have a place and a purpose. #ProudToBeAGirl #MothersDayEveryDay”
Final word:
Actress Pooja Chopra concludes, “To everyone who believes that having a boy as a child is a blessing and having a girl as a child is a hardship. Let me tell you that the women who have brought honour to our nation are the women like Avani Chaturvedi, Mithali Raj, Mary Kom, Deepa Mallik, Priyanka Chopra, and many others. A child’s potential or the love they deserve shouldn’t be limited by their gender. I wish that no woman would ever be turned away or shown the door simply because she gave birth to a daughter.”
For the unversed, in the 2011 Tamil film Ponnar Shankar, Chopra made her acting debut in the character of Princess Muthaayi alongside Prashanth Thiagarajan. She played supporting roles in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Flicks Fashion and Heroine before making her Bollywood debut as a leading lady.
