The well-known Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar continues to command attention. He recently blamed his nation for the Mumbai attack in a broadcast in Pakistan. Javed Akhtar received a lot of appreciation following this. Akhtar already expressed his views on Pakistan; this time, he has discussed his views on the Urdu language. He is being targeted on social media by people in Pakistan who are furious over this. The lyricist recently attended the album launch of an Urdu poetry collection with his wife Shabana Azmi. He has already made his promise during this.
Javed Akhtar reportedly said: “Urdu has not come from any other place; it is our own language” during the presentation, according to news agency ANI. He says, “Pakistan was formerly part of India before partition, although it is not spoken outside of India. This is simply the language spoken in India. Yet, you omitted this terminology. Why? What causes the division? Considering Pakistan? Would you agree that Kashmir is theirs as Pakistan claims that Kashmir is ours? I don’t believe so. Akin to Hindi, Urdu is an Indian language and always will be. Hindi and Urdu are spoken less by our younger generation. English is given greater consideration these days. Let’s communicate in Hindi. We must concentrate on Urdu.”
Javed Akhtar:
The Pakistanis do not agree with what Akhtar said about Urdu. Let me tell you that Urdu is the national language of Pakistan, wrote a user from that country. What fresh reasoning have you offered? Akhtar seems unstoppable when it comes to making offensive remarks about Pakistan, its culture, and its people, according to one Yazoor. It appears like Akhtar intends to continue making news after leaving Pakistan, one user wrote. A user commented, “Javed Akhtar asserted that Urdu is an Indian or Hindustani language and does not belong to Pakistan a few days after the anti-Pakistan comment.”
