While Raj Kundra is in police custody, the Mumbai Crime Branch is conducting a thorough investigation into his role in the suspected pornographic case. Some disturbing new claims have been made against businessman and actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband, Raj Kundra. In the ongoing Raj Kundra pornographic case several fresh charges have been levied against Raj Kundra in recent weeks.
Raj Kundra Bribes the Crime Branch
According to mid-day, an absconding accused designated as the racket’s leader in March, Arvind Srivastava aka Yash Thakur, had sent a complaint to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in the same month, saying that Kundra paid a bribe of Rs 25 lakh to Crime Branch sleuths. According to Yash Thakur, Kundra did the same to escape being arrested in the case. In April, the ACB allegedly submitted it to the Mumbai police chief’s office, but municipal authorities have declined to respond.
Raj Kundra was detained on July 19 and will be held in police custody until July 23. He is the key conspirator in the production of pornographic films. The crime department raided his home and discovered 70 films shot with the help of several production firms by Kundra’s former PA Umesh Kamat. According to the Times of India, Kundra is not disclosing much during his interrogation.
Kundra’s counsel objected to the applicability of Section 67A of the Information Technology Act on delivering obscene information in electronic form, as well as other provisions relating to pornography because these laws define “actual intercourse” as porn and everything else as filthy content. The lawyer went on to say that the cops are watching what’s popular on the internet these days: filthy stuff. It is not, however, considered pornographic.
On Friday, Kundra was snapped outside Byculla’s jail post his medical examination.
