Dilip Kumar, the legendary actor, died at the age of 98. For the past 15 days, he has been hospitalized at the Hinduja hospital in Khar, Mumbai. His dead remains have been returned to his Bandra home. Saira Banu, who had been in hospital with Dilip for the past fortnight, was also seen at the hospital.
Doctors at the hospital told sources that the actor’s treatment had been underway for the last 3-4 months. His prostate cancer had progressed to the point that it had spread to other organs in his body. “He had pleural fluid in his lungs, and he had renal failure. He required numerous blood transfusions. We gave him the final transfusion, but it didn’t help. The malignancy spread, making treatment difficult,” explained the doctor.
According to another update, the late actor’s last rites will be held on Wednesday at 5 p.m. Burial will take place today at 5:00 p.m. Santacruz Mumbai’s Juhu Qabrastan.
