According to current sources, Palwal Police have filed a charge under several sections, including dowry violence, against Sapna’s mother Neelam, and brother Karan. At the Women’s Police Station in Palwal, Sapna’s sister-in-law reported the singer-dancer and others for allegedly demanding a Creta car as dowry. The complainant claims that after her in-laws assaulted her and demanded money, they tormented and sexually exploited her as punishment.
In 2018, the complainant wed Karan, a Delhi resident and the brother of Sapna. In her complaint, Sapna’s sister-in-law claimed that when her daughter was born, her in-laws started requesting the automobile as part of the “Chuchak” rite.
Her father did present them with clothing, some gold and silver jewelry, and Rs 3 lakh in cash. Additionally, she claimed that after receiving gifts from her family, her in-laws became angry. They began to verbally abuse her once more while demanding the car. She added that on May 6, 2020, her spouse (Karan) had unnatural intercourse with her and assaulted her while intoxicated.
The complainant added that she went back to her father’s home in Palwal around six months ago. She filed a complaint there at a women’s police station against her in-laws, Sapna Chaudhary, Karan, and Neela. But no arrests have been made in the case thus far.
Sushila, the supervisor of the Women’s Police Station, stated, “The inquiry is ongoing. Satender, a deputy superintendent of police, is looking into everything. After the allegations are fabricated, the accused will be taken into custody.”
