Hasan Zaidi considers music to be extremely important in his life. His parents instilled in him a passion for music. He recalls his parents forcing him to listen to Boney M’s Daddy Cool when he was a kid.
“My father used to listen to a lot of Boney M, and I would always request that song. When we were driving home, Dad used to make me sit on his lap and let me drive a little while the music played in the car. My parents are both music fans. My mum is likewise a music junkie. We used to have these singing reality shows at our place, and her favorite was Indian Idol,” the actor recalls.
“If you ask me, I like all kinds of music now. I seldom go somewhere without listening to music. Hard rock, heavy metal, pop, and Bollywood are some of my favorite genres to listen to. I adore The Score, Hans Zimmer, Frank Sinatra, and Michael Jackson. When I was younger, they had a big effect on me. There’s also Rafi Saab, Kishore Kumar Saab, Lata Mangeshkar Ji, Asha Bhonsle Ji, Suraiya Begum, and others. Nushrat Saab, as well as many other well-known Qawwals such as The Sabri Brothers, are among my favorites. In my home, I have a sizable music collection. Music affects my mood; I constantly listen to music whether driving, working out, or cooking,” he continues.
Hasan talks about growing up listening to Metallica. “I also enjoy Guns N’ Roses and Bon Jovi. I had the wonderful opportunity to visit Mozart’s and Beethoven’s homes because I am married to an Austrian. In Vienna, I visited a museum dedicated to music. I also enjoy the music of Italian musician Antonio Vivaldi and frequent French and Spanish cafés. Tuning in to the Pakistan Coke studio was one of my favorite things to do.”
The actor claims he can’t choose just one favorite song, but cites several songs, including Chasing Cars, Musafir Hoon Yaaro, Yeh Raat Yeh Chandni Phir Kaha, The Aart Company, Suzannah, By the Way, and the Godfather album.
Few people are aware that Hasan can play the guitar, even though he is not a skilled musician. There was a time when music could only be purchased on phonograph records, cassette tapes, or CDs. However, owing to technological advancements, all types of music are now available at the press of a button.
