Actress Kangana Ranaut recently talked about how her height made it difficult for her to find successful modeling gigs in Delhi. She stated that she was still in her teen years when she first started modeling and that many told her she was useless. She acknowledged that she came to Mumbai to be photographed for a saree catalog and that she was refusing to go back to her agency in Delhi. Even her return ticket was torn for her to stay behind.
Kangana moved away from her Himachal Pradesh home at an early age to follow her dreams. For three years, she struggled and turned to a model to make ends meet in Delhi before making her acting debut in the 2006 movie “Gangster.”
Kangana Ranaut On Her Modelling Days
Recently, Kangana was asked if she had ever been to Mumbai before relocating there to pursue her acting career. The actress refuted it, stating, “I was between the ages of 12 and 13 when I left home in Himachal. In Chandigarh, I was pursuing my studies in a dorm. Later, I traveled to Delhi, where I spent one to two years. I traveled to Mumbai in 2004 for a modeling job and immediately tossed away the phone my agency had given me. Even worse, I tore my ticket when they called me back (to Delhi). I informed them that I was unwilling to return. I didn’t want to work there since I was continuously made fun of. Mujhe woh kaam karna hi nahi hai kyunki mujhe woh humesha modelling me nicha dikhate rehte they.”
She continued, “Kyuki unko lagta tha ki Delhi me ramp model zyada hote hai. Height ranges from 5’11 to 6’0, according to the ladkiyo ko. Or my height is 5′ 7”. Sara din of mine was baithi. They are modelling me, “Mujhe kehte they aaj bhi kaam nhi mila tumhe, tumhara kuch nahi hone wala” (In Delhi, one had to be 5’11 to 6 feet tall to work as a model; I was 5’7. I used to spend the entire day sitting down, and I was told I was useless. Then, I started getting catalog (shoots) and advertisement jobs where I had to stand behind other people. I traveled to Mumbai to photograph sarees for a catalog. However, it’s okay because, at the time, it helped me pay for my expenditures.”
The actor stated that after the shoot, she stayed in Mumbai and started going to casting calls. Shiney Ahuja made her acting debut in Anurag Basu’s “Gangstar,” which also starred Emraan Hashmi. She is currently one of Bollywood’s most popular actors.
Kangana’s most recent film, “Dhaakad,” didn’t do well at the box office. Emergency, Tejas, Chandramukhi 2, Manikarnika Returns: The Legend of Didda, and The Incarnation: Sita are just a few of the intriguing projects she is working on.
