Kangana Ranaut slashes at celebrities:
This heinous crime resulted in mass protests across the US. In a conversation with a media portal, Kangana Ranaut said, “The Sadhu lynching happened a few weeks ago; nevertheless, no one said a word. It occurred in Maharashtra, where most of these celebrities live. Bollywood anyway is a derived name of Hollywood. It is a shame they [Bollywood celebrities] proceed to live in a bubble and never fail to jump on the bandwagon, which can provide them two minutes of glory, but ‘white people’ must drive the bandwagon. Possibly, it is because of their pre-independence colonial slavery genes.”
Even the netizens are with Kangana on this one. Many people on social media have opposed and slammed the celebrities who showed their support to #BlackLivesMatters. The hashtag is made to proffer justice to the victim George Floyd. Tuesday was dedicated to the black people. The internet led a drive followed by the hashtag #BlackOutTuesday. Celebrities shared black pics on their timelines to show solidarity on this matter. Out of which one was the filmmaker Karan Johar. Even he got trolled for supporting this cause on the internet.
Kangana furthermore added, “Also for environmental issues, you see them strive for a white teenage kid but so many unimaginable elderly women and even children. They are doing unusually well in India on environmental affairs without any help or assistance. Some of them were esteemed with the Padma Shri award. I was amazed to see their stories, but they never get the same recognition from the industry. Perhaps, sadhus or tribal people aren’t superior enough for the Bollywood crowd or their followers.”
