Ayushmann Khurrana and Jackie Shroff donated money to veteran actress Savita Bajaj, who was having trouble paying her medical expense. She recently battled Covid-19 and has now been diagnosed with emphysema, a lung condition that causes shortness of breath and necessitates the use of oxygen. She was in the hospital for more than three weeks.
Nupur Alankar, a care committee member of CINTAA (Cine and TV Artistes’ Association), who has been looking after Savita, told a leading daily, “Actress Rajeshwari Sachdeva had posted on her Instagram about Savitaji, Ayushmann called her and transferred the money, which was a huge relief for us, as we were able to discharge her from the hospital.”
Jackie has also made a financial contribution to Savita’s account, and Sonu Sood has provided an oxygen concentrator.
According to the study, CINTAA gave Savita approximately Rs.50,000 for medical treatment. She was also awarded an Rs.5,000 monthly stipend to cover her costs over the previous several years.
Savita Bajaj On Her Difficult Times
In an interview with a prominent newspaper, Savita, who was just discharged from the hospital, said that no one assisted her in her hour of need except Nupur. “Dukh mein koi nahin khada hoga tumhare saath (No one will stand by you in tough times). I’ve hired a lot of individuals in the profession, both in performing and writing. Sab Matlab nikal ke aage chal diye (Everyone was motivated by their own self-interests).”
When asked if she plans to return to work, Savita stated she will take things as they come. “I never planned anything in my life, even my finances,” she says. “Coming out of the recording studios, I recall seeing so-called friends approaching me and pleading with me to give them money. I always distributed and was frequently left with only a few dollars. However, I continue to receive proposals, and several others have lately approached me. I believe in karma,” stated veteran actress Savita.
