Internet is filled with trollers and abusers who mentally harass people and snatch their peace of mind. Cyber bullying has built its space in the online world and now is eating it up like a termite. Sonakshi Sinha, in an attempt to promote the awareness of the legal consequences of the actions of trollers and abusers on the Internet, has joined Maharashtra cyber team’s campaign “Full Stop to Cyber Bullying.”
The actress said, “Social media was made with the intention to spread love and positivity. Unfortunately, it has become a toxic place with the rampant rise of cyber bullying and mental harassment. I have been a victim of trolls and abuses myself.”
She will co-ordinate with Special IGP of Maharashtra Pratap Dighavkar and a team of cyber experts. As part of the campaign, there will be five live panelists interacting on the issue. These interactions will be streamed live on Sonakshi’s social media handles. The first interaction went on air on July 26.
After Sushant’s untimely demise, many Bollywood stars were harassed and abused by umpteen netizens who didn’t bother to be ethical in their remarks. Sonakshi Sinha was a victim of the same. After which, Sonakshi quit Twitter. This incident happened over a month ago. While quitting Twitter, the diva wrote, “The first step to protecting your sanity is to stay away from negativity. And nowhere more of that than Twitter these days. Chalo I’m off — deactivating my account. Bye guys, peace out. Aag lage basti mein… mein apni masti mein! Bye Twitter.” She took the step to join the cyber team because of the same.
