In the early hours of today, T Rama Rao, a veteran director, and producer who is known for his work in Tami, Telugu, and Hindi movies, died in Chennai at the age of 83. His death was caused by a disease that he contracted as he grew older. At 4 p.m. today, the final rites will be performed at Kannammapet cremation. T Rama Rao’s wife, Tatineni Jayashree, and children, Chamundeswari, Naga Suuseela, and Ajay survive T Rama Rao.
T Rama Rao Career
During his career, Rama Rao has worked with several notable actors, including NTR, ANR, Shoban Babu, Krishna, Balakrishna, Sridevi, Jayapradha, and Jayasudha, to name a few. His accomplishments include Jeevana Tarangalu, Brahmachari, Aalumagalu, Yamagola, Presidenti Gari Abbayi, Illalu, Pandani Jeevitham, Pachani Kaapuram, and other notable projects.
He created a name for himself not just in Tamil, but also in Hindi. T Rama Rao has worked with renowned performers such as Amitabh Bachan, Jeetendra, Dharmendra, Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor, Govinda, and Mithun Chakraborty. For the film Andhaa Kanoon, he is credited with introducing Superstar Rajinikanth to Hindi audiences. Judai, Jeevan Dhara, Ek Hi Book, Andhaa Kanoon, Inqulaab. Insaf Ki Pukar, Watan Ke Rakhwale, Dosti Dushmani, Nache Mayuri. John Jani Janardhan, Raavan Raj, Muqabla, Hathkadi, Jung, and others were all great hits in Hindi.
T Rama Rao was also recognized for his contributions to the Indian film industry with several awards. In addition to his activities in the entertainment sector, he was also the Chairman of Madras Hydraulic Hose Pvt Ltd. He was a prominent maker of stainless steel flexible corrugated hoses with global exports.
