Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani starrer Laxmmi Bomb was attracting a lot controversies due to its title. The makers of the movie even received a legal notice from Shri Rajput Karni Sena demanding its title change. The popular TV actor Mukesh Khanna, known for shows like Mahabharata and Shaktimaan also bashed the movie makers for keeping such a name of the movie. However, on Thursday the film underwent its censor certificate and post the screening, the makers had a discussion with Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Thereafter, considering the religious sentiments of the Hindu people the producers of the film — Shabinaa Khan, Tusshar Kapoor and Akshay Kumar have now decided to change the title of their film. The horror-comedy is now renamed as Laxmii.

This movie directed by Raghava Lawrence is a Hindi remake of Tamil film, Kanchana, which was also directed by Lawrence. This movie marks the Hindi film debut for the director.
The movie had been making to the headlines due to its controversial sentiments. As per the report on Zoom TV, the makers received a legal notice from advocate Raghavendra Mehrotra. The advocate represents the Shri Rajput Karni Sena. According to them, the title ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ was ‘derogatory’ and ‘offensive’. All of this gathered limelight because the title resonates with goddess Laxmi of Hindu religion. This was upsetting the audience.
