The producer of Sachin – A Billion Dreams, Ravi Bhagchandka, is prepared for many more offerings at the turnstiles. Golf enthusiast Ravi is about to hit the green with the movie Champions, which he is producing with Sony Pictures and Aamir Khan. Brewster’s Millions, a book by George McCutcheon published in 1902, is also being adapted for the big screen by him.
The producer reveals, “We’ve already looked over several draughts of the script; it’s coming together nicely, and we should be able to start production soon. In addition to this, we are developing a web series based on one of Ashwin Sanghi’s best-selling books, a political thriller. Another exciting movie adaptation of the All Yours bestseller in Argentina is in the works. With Sagarika Ghatge Khan, this movie will be produced, and Inside Edge series director Kanishk Varma will helm it. Together with this, we’re also working on a sports biopic that will undoubtedly be a hit and a handful of entertaining reality series with a sports theme that are still in their very early phases.”
Being a professional athlete for 15 years has given Ravi enthusiasm and dedication. Ravi, who has admired Sachin Tendulkar since he was a young child, produced a unique documentary about the cricketing legend that was widely shown in theatres. Because of how much Ravi admires Sachin, even his production company is named 200 NOT OUT.
Aamir Khan & Ravi Bhagchandka:
“Our 200 NOTOUT production is devoted to Sachin’s ODI record-breaking score. He was the only person to score a double tonne at that time, which was a near-impossible feat! We believed it would never happen again because it was one of those situations.” Ravi’s response leaves us perplexed.
After previously winning accolades with the master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar, Ravi Bhagchandka’s 200 NOTOUT is now excited to work with the perfectionist Aamir Khan because of his predilection for choosing stories about champions. “Champions is not a straight-up sports movie,” claims Ravi. It features a human interest tale set against a sporting backdrop. While it is well known that Aamir Khan, who was formerly cast in the RS Prasanna-directed film, has temporarily stepped down from performing, 200 NOT OUT, Sony Pictures, and others will produce it, it was Ravi who made the choice to acquire the rights to the Spanish drama.
“We watched the movie at the Berlin Film Festival, and we thought it was excellent. It focuses on the unique difficulties faced by those with disabilities and how they go about living their lives. What we loved most about the movie, in general, is that it has a lot of heartwarming and funny moments,” adds Ravi. Now that Aamir is a producer on the movie, ask Ravi who will play the lead, and he will be able to respond, “As of now, we are still analysing and reassessing the route forward. All he says is, “We look forward to sharing some positive news soon!”
