Gangubai Kathiawadi Review:
The film sheds a light on the lives of the women working in the world’s oldest profession, prostitution. This Sanjay Leela Bhansali film will take you to the Nehruvian times Bombay. The writer throws a melodramatic and grandeur perception on the story keeping the SLB films tradition intact.
The audience will see Alia Bhatt as a matriarch for the 4000 prostitutes who are fighting day and night for their survival. The actress puts all the doubts to rest by justifying the character with hard work and talent. We also see actor Ajay Devgn making an extended cameo in the film as Rahim Lala. Jim Sarbh too has a supporting role of an Urdu journalist. While Shantanu Maheshwari is a young tailor who has the heart of Gangubai.
Actress Indira Tiwari plays the role of Gangubai’s best friend Kamli. The film also has some powerful dialogues that put life into the scenes. Actor Vijay Raaz stands head-to-head with Alia Bhatt in the film even when he is opposing her.
This film allows Alia Bhatt to reach the peak of her career, and she has fully utilised it to its highest potential. The film will definitely give you the entertainment you have been looking for. This dramatic film will leave you enthralled and thinking.
