Actor Gaurav Singh decided to try his hand at show business because he loved performing arts. The actor, who is well-known for roles in films like Krishna Kanhaiya and Chidiya Ghar, admits that his family was unaware of his aspirations.
The actor says, “After finishing high school, I began looking for colleges in Mumbai and took entrance exams at a few institutions. Fortunately, I was accepted into one of the institutes here. My family mistakenly believed that I had come here to finish my graduation, but I had other ambitions. I began my battle in the profession as I was finishing my interior design education. Moreover, I used to wander the city after class and began learning about the business. I obtained my first role just as I was about to finish my graduation. I had conducted between 70 and 80 auditions prior to that. After I finished my graduation, I notified my family about my goals, and then there was no looking back.”
The actor admits that most of the roles he has performed to date have all been difficult in one way or another when asked about the most difficult one he has played on television. He confesses, “I, therefore, believe in getting up early and going to bed early, so when there is an all-night shoot, I find it to be both emotionally and physically taxing. However, I believe I must have”
Actor Gaurav Singh:
Every time, Gaurav makes care to stay prepared for his role. He adds, “My preparation will vary depending on the position I am given. Prior to creating the character sketch, I read the narrative several times without giving the character any emotion.”
Being an actor is difficult considering the demands of the business. There is also no assurance regarding the workflow. He spells out what an artist needs to succeed, “Perseverance and resilience are two qualities that every actor requires not just to perform their characters better but it also helps them to survive this industry.”
Additionally, it can be challenging to combine one’s personal and professional life while working in the TV industry due to the schedule. Gaurav, though, sees things from a different angle. “When you enjoy what you do and have supportive friends and family, finding a balance never feels like much of a struggle. You have enough of time to spend with your loved ones and it just comes easily,” he claims.
Gaurav continues, “So when I started working in the industry, people had to go to the production houses to meet in person, and actors used to carry hard copies of their portfolio images. Now, the entire strategy has been revised. Things are now computerised and rather seamless.”
Additionally, it goes without saying that there is always room for improvement within the sector. “More possibilities and outlets for newbies to audition so they can pursue their careers here and see it as a secure alternative like other sectors. There has already been so much disparaging commentary about the workings of show business, and I think that needs to change,” he concludes.
