Juhi Parmar is receiving a lot of applause and good reviews for her outstanding performance in the most recent film, Yeh Meri Family Season 2. Her fame and achievements, though, go well beyond this most recent TVF programme because she previously established herself as a well-liked actor thanks to her legendary performance in the Kumkum serial. Juhi Parmar recently reflected on her acting career and remembered Kumkum with great fondness.
Juhi Parmar said to TV Times that the “Kumkum” cast and crew frequently made jokes and referred to the set as “Mogambo’s den” because of the humorous dynamics. While there was a definite time to arrive on set, she said that there was never a set time to leave. According to Parmar, “We used to work 30 hours straight. There were a lot of days when folks would pack up, go, and return the following day, but I would still be shooting. The unit and the people would change, but I would continue to work around the clock. There was too much pressure and no set deadline.”
Kumkum serial:
The tough work schedule at the time was commented upon by the actor, who characterised it as “its own kind of fun.” Given the ferocity of the early 2000s television industry, she expressed surprise at how they were able to manage the workload. Actors and producers alike were exploring unexplored terrain because daily soaps were a relatively new phenomenon.
Long working hours were frequently a result of the need to provide numerous episodes each week. Juhi acknowledged the fundamentally difficult nature of television, which calls for unflinching focus and commitment. She emphasised that people shouldn’t pursue careers in the broadcast industry if they can’t handle such demanding schedules. “You shouldn’t do it if it’s not feasible for you. That is what this medium needs. Therefore, you should be mentally ready to complete it.”
For those who are unaware, the Kumkum serial aired on StarPlus from 2002 to 2009 for almost seven years. In addition to Juhi, Hussain Kuwajerwala played a key role. Click here to read the latest Bollywood TV shows.
