The next family romance drama, Dhruv Tara, from Sony SAB, which is renowned for producing truly original programs that display a range of emotions, follows the journey of Dhruv and Tara, who come from two distinct eras. The show is all set to cut through the clutter with a love story that has never been seen on Indian television before, supporting the channel’s promise to produce entertainment that appeals to the entire family. Tara (played by Riya Sharma), a princess from the 17th century who defies time travel, arrives in the present day and encounters Dhruv there (played by Ishaan Dhawan).
The show’s leads, Dhruv and Tara, will be joined by veteran actor Krishna Bharadwaj in the character of Mahaveer, Tara’s brother. Tenali Rama, one of the most beloved shows on Sony SAB, was where Krishna Bharadwaj last appeared in the role of Tenali. To the satisfaction of his admirers, it will be interesting to see him on the channel once more in a different avatar!
Krishna Bharadwaj On Joining Dhruv Tara
Mahaveer’s actor Krishna Bharadwaj stated, “I have a long history with Sony SAB. It feels fantastic to be back with a show like Dhruv Tara after being a part of several incredible shows on the channel in the past. I’ve had opportunities in the past to play roles that are similar to those I’ve previously portrayed on TV, but I wanted to be a part of something different and move away from comedy. I was therefore persuaded when I learned about the plot and writing of the show because it allowed me the chance to portray a new role—one that is more dramatic and emotional. Mahaveer, Tara’s brother, is a colorful character who represents the prince of Vallabhgad in the 17th century, and I shall be performing his part. He has a princely image and is a strong yet loving sibling. I’m sure the show will take the audience on a beautiful journey.”
